In February, we spent a week in Nicaragua looking for new microlots to bring to the table this season. We found some real gems down there including a beautiful maragogype. It was a great exploratory trip and should prove increasingly fruitful in the years to come as more coffees are discovered and redirected from the local commodity market to those interested in these coffees on their own. Regardless of where the coffee goes, who buys it, or who drinks it, it’s always incredible to see the entire supply-chain working together to bring amazing coffees to the cup. Here are a few snapshots of life in Nicaragua.
